Join Newtown Parks and Recreation and Santa for a Holiday Breakfast! Santa will join us so that children can pose for photos. Enjoy arts and crafts, as well as bagels, doughnuts, milk, juice, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. We remind Residents to please bring a non perishable food item for the Newtown Food Pantry.

All ages are welcome for our Community Event. Please register!

Individuals, families, businesses, sports teams and community organizations are invited to participate in our 5th Annual Scarecrow Contest. Adopt a Fairfield Hills Lamp Post of your choice during the month of October, (first-come, first-served). Build your own unique scarecrow and affix it to your adopted lamp post (you can pick up your number card at our office). You can work on your scarecrow from October 2-25. The community is invited to vote for their favorite scarecrow from October 26-30. The winner will be announced on October 31.

Winners have a chance to win a Summer 2025 Family Pool & Beach Membership Pass or assorted tier prizes donated by local businesses. The Scarecrow Contest application is available for download on our website; complete and mail it to us or bring it to our office by Friday, October 18.

Compete for the highest score in three rounds of shooting baskets. Teams consist of two members of the same family, one adult (15 years & older) and one child. Team members can be any gender. Youths may enter only once. Adults may enter with more than one child. A smaller basket is used for the children 4 years and under. The winning team in each division will go home with a gift certificate for a turkey just in time for Thanksgiving dinner.

$15 Per Team of Two (1 child/1 adult)

Join Newtown Parks and Recreation for the Annual Spring Egg Hunt. There will be an appearance by our Spring Bunny who will lead you to the hunt. We have a variety of time slots available. Each time slot is limited to 100 participants. There will be two prize eggs in each time slot. Once you have completed your time slot, please depart the Pavilion area to allow for other participants to enjoy the hunt.

No Walk-Ins: you must pre-register for the event.

Round up your friends and come on down to the Teen Center for gaming fun! Affinity Esports, based in Sandy Hook, CT, will be hosting the evening with variety of games and guidance. Affinity Esports is known for their mission of creating safe spaces for happier and healthier gaming experiences.

In addition to gaming, participants can hang out in the Teen Center and play foosball, air hockey and pool. We also have a shuffleboard table (with the option for football play mat). We will have pizza as well.
